About Our Program
Mother’s Time Out is a nonprofit, part-time childcare program, with a preschool structure. We serve children ages 2 ½ to 5 (must be potty trained). We offer a nurturing and caring environment, with a Christian foundation. Each child is encouraged to explore, create, and learn in a safe atmosphere provided by qualified and devoted staff.
We offer flexibility in choices. You choose when you want your child to attend. You sign up for the school year and can choose one, two, or three days. We have a four hour program (9A-1P) or six hour program (9A-3P). You decide what best meets the need of your child and family. Cost: $16.00 for the 4 hour program, $22.00 for 6 hour program. Depending on how many days, and hours you sign up for, will determine your tuition cost.
Each day we offer educational experiences that encourage independence and growth towards pre-kindergarten readiness. Our schedule is designed to develop skills in creativity, expression, socialization, fine and gross motor skills, character building, as well as foster self-esteem.
Our curriculum is literacy based. Reading is the foundation of learning. Therefore, exposing children to the joy of reading builds on future learning success. Each day, at least two books are read to children based around the theme of the weeks. The themes are based on developmentally appropriate concepts. The class explores these themes and activities throughout the day to reinforce the basic concepts provided by the books.
A multi-sensory approach to learning allows the children to discover their world through all of their senses. Here are some our daily activities to foster learning and growth at Mother's Time Out:
Circle Time This is the primary time we focus on pre-kindergarten readiness. Every morning the children review numbers, ABC’s, shapes, colors, the calendar, weather, and the Pledge of Allegiance. This is also the time when the theme of the week is introduced with a book.
Arts and Crafts The children are encouraged to be creative by making a variety of crafts throughout the day. They have a structured project in the morning after Circle Time, and usually additional projects are made during Learning Centers. These times are designed to help develop fine motor skills.
Learning Centers During the afternoons, the children are put in small groups that rotate through two or three centers. Each center explores science, cooperative learning, math, reading, or creativity. The centers are organized to give each child a variety of hands-on experiences.
Music Music is an essential part of early childhood learning. Children thrive on learning traditional and modern preschool songs. Mother’s Time Out also provides simple Christian songs, as well as seasonal songs. This time is used to develop gross-motor skills, coordination, language, memory, cooperation, and making connections with their world.
